Back to the drawing board: How #TeamFlea deals with failure.
"Everything you touch turns to gold."
That's what people used to say to me. It's what they think when they don't know how hard I work, how little I sleep, how much I fail.
So, what do we do when we 'fail'? Well, we channel our girl Cardi B.
- First, understand the facts. Most times, we're imagining some things. For instance, if vendors aren't applying to our newest application, we can get a little stressed. But asking a few questions and doing some fact-finding quickly leads to more understanding about how we can do more, and better. There's a TON of improvement to make in a startup, and it can be crushing to people who don't realize that but to others, who are gritty and want to live BIG lives, we know it's just part of the deal.
- Second, we get our minds out of the gutter. I don't mean in the naughty way. I mean that we're sort of down on ourselves. And there's no need for that. Failure is the best teacher.
- Third, we set a new, very immediate, goal. We set a simple, achievable, goal to get us back on our feet. Normally, we 'fail' at BIG goals.
- Lastly, we put on some Cardi B and remember THAT WE ALL WORK TOGETHER AND THIS IS THE ACTUAL LIFE THAT WE GET TO LIVE AND IT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY AMAZING.
happy failures, friends!
